Meet Emphani

Emphani is a native Detroiter and graduate of Renaissance High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, with honors, in Political Science and AfroAmerican and African Studies from the University of Michigan. After undergrad, Emphani served as a College Adviser at University Prep Academy High School with the Michigan College Advising Corps. She received her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in 2019, where she was awarded the Damon J. Keith full-tuition scholarship. In August of 2017, Emphani founded QUAD College Advising. QUAD was a Detroit-based nonprofit that aimed to increase the post-high school success of Metro Detroit youth.

Emphani is now an accomplished corporate and securities attorney, focusing her practice on capital markets, corporate governance, securities transactions, mergers & acquisitions, and general corporate matters. She is a member and secretary of the Board of Directors of David Ellis Academy-West in Detroit and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. In her spare time, Emphani enjoys reading, traveling, trying new recipes, and live music.
